Sparkles Galore

The Fourth of July festivities have come to an end. As I mumble Thank The Lord. I'm actually excited that most holidays last for a day in some cases a week. However this holiday in particular I'm happy to not hear another bottle rocket for a year.
This weekend has also thrown me off because Ken was off for 3 days. Friday, which was the fourth we ended up going to the parents for a while to eat. Then home and the neighbors came over and watched the fireworks. Ended the night with a bang. (No pun intended.) Then Saturday fireworks again. All day bottle rockets and that night my sister invited us over for burgers, fries, and more fireworks.

So pretty much our three day weekend turned out awesome. But just like Christmas  I'm glad it comes once a year.

I do apologize for those who read my blog. I am a busy mother of two. This summer seems to be going by so fast and now we are in the swing of getting things read for school. I mean they just started putting the stuff out and we have until Aug 8th to get it all. I'm also wanting to revamp up my blog. So new things to come to those that are patient and like to read my blog.

Home Management

I have always been interested in home management binders.  To me after reading up on them and seeing them to me they make sense. In my household of 4 I feel as this would be extremely beneficial.  As of right now I am a stay at home mom. I feel cluttered and overwhelmed. At times I feel as if my head is here but over yonder as Well.  Sometimes I don't know if I'm coming, going, or staying still.  When we moved into my parents old house, which in deed was my childhood home, we downsized. Although the clutter is minimizing. I don't feel as it is going very fast. Although we have accomplished a lot.  We done a lot of this de-cluttering this past weekend and getting it organized.

Update:
I started this post a few weeks ago. I must say though in the past week. I have been writing daily to do list and getting them done.  No my house isn't spotless but in just a weeks time I can see a serious change.  Also, I purchased a dollar weekly dry erase board from dollar tree. The kids get really involved when they have a hand in writing their chores down.  It's working.

The school supplies is marked down and out at just about everywhere. I'm going to start getting getting things bought to put together my home-management binder.

I do feel as if we had this even if it's just full of important dates and info, such as budget and bills. That slowly but shortly we will start saving more. Hopefully soon I'll have pictures to share.

Sleep Over =Big Deal

Yes, that you read right. Let me begin by saying my daughter whom is almost 9 is such a mommas girl. To the point she doesn't even want to stay the night with her grandparents in their new house which is 10 minutes away.

So why is a sleep over equalling a big deal. Here goes, my daughters best friend has always stayed the night with us. It's my best friends daughter as Well. However, after Bubs ball game Thursday night my daughter begged and pleaded with me to stay the night with her best friend.  I was determined she wouldn't do it.  Boy was I wrong. While I sat at home worrying myself sick she was 30 minutes away. Yes, 30 minutes. I drove my best friend insane to the point at times I think she was ignoring me.  I had a really hard time with this. I even stayed awake until I got that last text at almost 11:30 saying she was asleep. Then before I knew it. It was morning and can ya believe it she made it all night long.  I have never been more proud for my daughter to finally understand it is OK if mommy is away because she's coming back. But thanks to her sperm donor she does struggle with this, fear that those close to her will abandoned her like he did. But after years of Ken proving to her he isn't going anywhere and myself proving that mommy will be there to get her in the morning. She finally is starting to believe.

Operation Remodel

There has been remodeling going on in our house hold. So far so good. THe picture of the owl is in the kids room. On the freshly new painted walls (of course after it dried). The whole time which has been since the house was built 24 years ago. We have always had white walls. Well since my kids, Ken, and I have taken over we have decided to start fixing her up and repainting the walls. We chose a caramal brown for the kids. I mean doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why.  And for mine and Ken's room we done a French Grey. It reminds me of a very blue storm cloud. Believe it or not kind of relaxing.  But amongst all of this remodeling we have been declutterizing our home. My children have more toys than thy know what to do with. Along with clothes. My goal is to have everything straightened by fourth of July and everything decluttered before the kids start school August 8th. But hoping to honestly be done before July 28 before we head to St.Louis.

This remodel repaint process has been over a Well I will say a month process because we laid our new carpet in the living room first but didn't paint. The past two weekends we have painted and laid new carpet. Most of the credit goes to my wonderful boyfriend and my neighbor Mark.

I also want to give credit where credit is due and that is to DOLLAR TREE. Yes, Dollar Tree. We went to St.Louis back in April with girlscouts . My mother, the kids, and I stayed the night and went shopping the nextra day. I found this cute Owl Wall Art. The rest of the wall art is from Dollar Tree that is more local to use.

I'm sure thus isn't the end to our remodeling chaos but uuntil next time. See ya Later.

Krazy Chaotic Last Week of May

Today was suppose to be the start of a krazy  week. However raining all day canceled our little man's first  ball game.. Now it's actually suppose to rain and storm all week, so Bub's  Thursday game may be canceled as well. Although the game may be canceled I will still be watching my best friend 22 month old twins. YES TWINS!!!!. It will be just fine. They LOVE aunt D.  Now rain or shine Rys activities will still go on for the fact they are inside. She has dance pictures tomorrow and praying to the good Lord above it doesn't rain while we get there because she may have a costume on already and if she doesn't that means we have to leave extra early. Same thing for Friday except it is for full dress/makeup rehersal.  Then Saturday is the Recital. Yep so hopefully I'll be able to finished my other blogs I mentioned in rewind and update.

Just A Heads Up

I have been working on an update post for the past couple of days. I should be finished tonight/early morning. This month in general is normally a hectic mom the but has been over the top chaos this year.

Since I am a  [Single]° mother of two technically. It's hard sometimes to just post everyday or have something up everyday.  However, I do start blog post that I avenue and come back too. This is simple to me because I am so busy, that I get side tracked and necessarily can't get it all done. So just so I don't forget to plat something usually nine chances out of ten I start the post. Also the past 4 days the kids and I have been sick. I found out Friday at the doctor I have asthmatic bronchitis and the medicines have made me sleepy.

° Single in this blog post doesn't mean that Ken and I broke up because Lord knows he isn't going anywhere. HAHA But considering we aren't married legally I am considered single. Although in our situation even though he is the best darn daddy to children that are not biologically his I will always technically be considered a SINGLE mother.

****Sorry it took a little longer with the Rewind & Update post.  I'm trying real hard to post daily. But as stated before it can't always happen like that..******

Let Me Rewind & Update

Its almost 10 PM on May 24th, 2014. May is normally a semi-busy month for our family.  Between end of the school activities (now both kids), Ryleigh's end of the year dance/recital prep, & this year decided to add more baggage to ourselves by putting Brayden in T-Ball. What the hey?! They are only kids once and as parents you have to aacradice to let your children enjoy their childhood. I know my parents did. Pretty sure most parents do. Yes, I know their are parents out there that could really careless they have kids but keep popping then out. (That's anotgwr blog in itself I've been working on.) But back to Busy May and Updating.

Let me rewind back to May 6th, 2014.

Was an extremely normal day. Got the kids off to school, came home start laundry and the dishwasher from the night before, sat down watched a bit of TV until Brayden got home from Pre-k. How much more normal can ya get?  Ken called a little after 11am like he always does. You could hear the pain in his voice. He said, "I am gonna take vacation for in the morning. Call and get me in to the doctor before noon. So hopefully I can come back to work. But if not let me know and I'll take a whole vacation day."  Needless to say he didn't return back to work until May 20th. Ken was have appendicitis attacks try getting all day Tuesday May 6th. He even went to an urgent care that....1. Denied him at first. (We were broke from paying bills that week.) But at first denied him because he didn't have his copay. Yes, been told that is law suit grounds because no health care is suppose to deny you.
2. He borrowed the $20 from a family friend. He WAS NOT actually seen by the doctor. The nurse poked around on him. Said the doctor will be in shortly. DOCTOR. Yes, I said doctor had his nurse come back in and say there is absolutely nothing we can do for you. Its probably your appendix. We don't have the CT machine to check go to the ER.
3.  Although at the moment it wasn't necessarily an emergency. He called his work and insurance company. Well he had to be referred by a primary doctor to have the test covered on insurance. Also if he would have went without being referred. It wouldn't have covered the CT Scan and he'd have to pay the $300 buck co-pay since he didn't go by ambulance.
4. He called the nurse he seen. She talked to the doctor. The doctor got on the phone and said. I quote, " I never seen you. My nurse did. Therefore I CAN NOT refer you. Yeah a bunch of bull hockey if you ask me.
So Ken came home. Waited all night in moderate pain (depended on the way he laid.) The next day went to his doctor appointment. And the doctor was really good. But he even stated he thought it was a pulled muscle because Ken sisnt show signs of distress until he pushed in the right spot. Then ken about came up of the table. So they referred him. As a mother of a hold that got out at 3 PM. He was ordered a CT scan at 2:15PM. We were also about 20 minutes from home.  I dropped him off and went and got our daughter. Came back got him and waited at my parents for almost 4 hours to hear back. Right as we were leaving....BAM. The call came in for him to head to the hospital to talk to the surgeon. We were hoping they have him set up to come in the morning. OH NO! (Nothing is ever that easy). He was a direct admit. Had his appendix taken out. Surgery started at 8PM at night. By time I waited for him to get out of surgery, spend a little time with him post-operation,  then leave to go to my moms to pick up the kids and My sister (who graciously offered to watch them so I could be with Ken), and finally drop my sister off at her house get two kids settled back down and ready for bed. It was already 2:30 am. Only to get up a few short hours later to get ready to go back up to the hospital and wait 5 hours for them to discharge him.

So, that was roughly TWOS day a little into the next day.
See how jam packed that day was. You can only imagine the following days.

May 8th-15th, 2014

Ken was excused off for a week. Which of course that was expected sue to having major surgery. May 6th-10th, Ken worked of course May 6th with overtime and then May 7th he worked a full 8 hours before leaving work to go to the doctor because the pain was severe. So they used up his vacation time for the following days. He went back to work Thursday like the excuse stated and they wouldn't let him work due to not having proper work release papers.
Finally May 15th,16th,&19th, he was finally able to catch his surgeons nurse over the phone via the receptionist to release him back to work. May 20th, finally Ken is off to work. He was happy to be able to go back to work to make money to support our family. I love him to the moon and back but I was so happy to see him head to work.  No more aggravate Diedra days.

But during his days off after healing pretty well and kind of fast. He was able to attend one of Brayden's T-BALL practices and help coach him.  Saturday the 16th he was able to lay our new carpet. I mean hey it's not everyday a contract building houses man offers you 1900 sq feet of FREE carpet. Yes, you read that right and I said Free Carpet!

May 21st,2014
Ken went back to work. Ryleigh had park play day. As well as my little sister Julie who was up from Mississippi was over visiting and I got a call to come her Ry. She was sick with a headache. Well knowing my daughter like I do. I assumed it was just exhaustion, heat and allergies. I was almost right. She missed school Thursday due to dosing off. Friday was determined to go her last day of school so she could see her friends and attend her award ceremony. (Working on post about her award, so ya have to come back in a few days to see what she won.) Any guesses?  Well took her to the urgent care right along with myself and Brayden.   The verdict is as followed. Brayden has a sinus infection. I have asthmatic bronchitis as well as an ear infection. Ryleigh on the other hand has a slight upper respiratory infection (she said she diagnosed that because she was a bit wheezy in her upper quadrant. Nothing had gotten in her lungs. Fluid behind her left ear along with an actual ear infection and a extremely severely bad nasty throat infection but wasn't strep.

Do ya see what I mean by chaos?

But I enjoy the chaos, because without it I wouldnt have my wonderful kids.

Stay tuned to the upcoming post about Aggravation Insurance Companies Are, Ryleigh Rewards, and possibly an update about this chaotic Memorial Weekend?
